Deep within the South American jungle, it’s not only the border between Argentina and Brazil that can be difficult to map out. Perfectly in tune with the continent’s tradition for magical realism, this arthouse-beast also blurs out the lines between faith and superstition, dreams, and reality. The film follows the young Emilia who in her search for her lost brother moves into her auntie’s unpopular hostel. Here, she meets a beautiful, young woman who sparks an unknown desire. Sexuality sprouts while the locals are on the hunt for a mysterious beast in the dense fog. An evocative debut that brings the female desire to the fore.
